At the weekend Leicester City played a pre-season friendly match in Northern France against Lille. Several hundred loyal Leicester fans travelled over with the thought of red hot sunshine, plenty of beer, a last chance to see City play before the new season and a good old laugh with their mates. A friendly match with no particular rivalry between the clubs. No trouble expected.

The sun shone as expected, there was plenty of beer, City won, the laughs were there. Leicester fans spread out all across the pubs in Lille.

About ten o’clock a group of eight lads sat outside a bar enjoying a drink when they were approached and attacked, unprovoked, by a group of fifty odd French hooligans. The boys tried their best to fight them off but obviously there were just two many. The attack stopped as quickly as it started and the aftermath left one lad with several knife wounds to his body, his 62yr old Dad (who was celebrating his birthday) with several injuries to his face. The worst injury was to Adie. His leg had been stamped on and was obviuosly broken. He was taken to the hospital and is still there now recovering from an emergency operation on a double leg break.

Adie is self employed and this is gonna set him back massively as its gonna be a good while until he will be able to work. If anyone cares to help a few quid donation, no matter how big or small, will go a long way to helping ease the pressure for him in what is gonna be a very difficult few months.
