The Halton Schools Concert Wind Band is a music ensemble that rehearses in the Widnes area every wednesday evening during term time. The ensemble is totally free to its members and offers them the valuable experience of making music as part of a team in a safe environment.

As a tutor for this ensemble I get to see first hand what a fantastic impact this group has on its members lives, not just musically but also socially.

As times get financially less certain the group is aiming to make themselves less reliant on musical education funding and try to get themselves to be self sufficient, with the long term aim to be able to operate and generate funds through concerts and sponsored events.

Any funds generated will allow the ensemble to carry on and consolidate their work of giving musical opportunities to the children of the Halton area.
