I'm raising money in support of a good friend of mine and his wife who sadly lost their son when he took his own life last year. In their words,

On the 25th October 2016, after a long struggle with depression, our son and brother Joshua Smith took his own life.

Josh was a loving, caring person who was very unwell. As a family we have been trying to get him the medical care he needs for some time; but because he has a family, place of work and a loving girlfriend Josh has been deemed low risk by Mental Health services. In the past few months we have known that he was at imminent risk of attempting to take his life, as he had lost hope that he could be well again and his depression consumed him.

My friends have now founded their own charity. Its called the Friends of Joshua Smith to and offer help and support for those who have mental health issues and help prevent suicide.

I smoked for over 30 years until thankfully, last June I managed to quit!
I've doing my best to get in shape ever since, which has been frustrating with the injuries I've picked up along the way.

This is why I have set myself the challenge of running my first 10k run which will be in Stafford on the 24th September. With your help and donations I hope to cross the finish line and offer support for a worthy cause. Thank you.
