On Thursday the 25th of May I am meeting with 4 other event industry professionals whom I’ve never met before, Richard Waddington Chair of EMA, Chris Foy of Visit Britain, Philip Atkins from Off to Work and Chris McQue for Worldwide Events to ride a bicycle, as a team. The event is "The Event Industry Cyclathon" and we aim to raise money for the Meetings Industry Meeting Needs charity (Check out their website for details of the current projects www.meetingneeds.org.uk/projects/).
So........ I need you to donate some money!
Here is the challenge ..............We ride as a team for 3 hours around the Silverstone Grand Prix Track against other teams from the event industry and try and do more laps than any other team. The track is 3.6 miles long and as I have never done anything like this before I have no idea how many laps we will complete, also I don't know how good, or bad, my team mates are, therefore I have absolutely no idea how this will go.
I would hope we could work as a team and target completing 12 laps which would mean we would need to do 15 miles per hour solidly for 3 hours ie 45 miles....but I may be way off........
So have some fun with your bidding: you could decide to only pay for the laps after 10 laps with a bonus after 12...... or you could just give a set figure for trying something like this......but whatever you choose to do.........just give some money.

So that you don't go too overboard with your donations, I do cycle regularly in my daily commute to work, however this is, for most of the year, in 5 mile chunks before I either sit on a train or get to work and certainly not in 3 hour stints.
