BLEWBURY COB WALLS

Blewbury is blessed by having six cob walls- these are a unique feature of the village – in fact Blewbury is the only village in the country to have as many as 6 cob walls, which are Saxon in origin. Five of the cob walls are privately owned and maintained. However, the Curtoys Lane Cob Wall (near the Blewbury Green/play close) is not owned by anyone. Hence some 37 years ago a Cob Wall committee was formed and funds raised to maintain it. The cob wall is now in a bad state and is in need of urgent repair.
