Story
Our good friend Paula Cave recovered from breast cancer in 2015. She thought she was going to celebrate the magic 5 year remission milestone. At 53, Paula, her husband Richard and their sons Archie (16) and Monty (13) were hoping they could put that battle behind them and plan for the future.
Instead, on Christmas Eve 2019, Paula received the devastating news that her breast cancer had returned and metastasized. It felt like the world had fallen in. She found resolve as her oncologist reassured her that her type of cancer could be treated with targeted chemotherapy. But a few months later things have not gone well. Despite Paula's best efforts the cancer has not responded to the chemo.
Despite the lightning speed in which this has all happened, the cancer has marched on and turned her life upside down. Paula is not at the end of the road as there are other options. Private funds are required to access these other treatments. This is why we would like to raise money for Paula with this fundraising page.
£50,000 would help Paula access the most advanced and holistic approaches at a clinic abroad where curing stage 4 cancer is so often achieved by cutting edge but integrative methods. Paula and Richard have been thoroughly researching several clinics in the UK and abroad (St Georg in Germany) and are consulting with them about Paula’s specific condition. They combine "traditional" chemotherapy with various alternative methods to counteract the damage to health and immunity done by chemotherapy and improve its potency in combating the cancer.
If we can raise the funds to open these doors, there is a strong possibility that Paula's life can be saved. It must happen in the month of July as Paula needs to be well enough to travel to Germany if necessary to start the treatment.
Paula is a fighter, she wants to be there for her sons and her husband. She just needs to get that chance. Please help her with whatever you are able to give by donating on this page.
