My lovely ten year old niece Daisy had her life shattered in September 2016, when she was diagnosed with a tumour on her spinal cord and had a twelve hour operation to have as much of the tumour removed as possible, then three days later, had another ten hour op to remove more. Then four weeks later had another op to support the neck and since then has had a halo support on. She is a very brave girl and with the help of lots of physio and ot appointments is making a good recovery. While in hospital she was so well looked after by all the nurses and Dr on G2 neurological ward in southampton hospital and being not in our home town, my sister and brother in law was given a room in the ronald macdonald house, so they could be close to her at all times. Even her little sister was able to go and stay with her at weekends , which cheered her up . We can not thank them enough for all they have done for daisy and continue to do so, as she still has regular appointments up there and hopefully in a months time will be having the halo removed. So myself and my friend Sue Quade have decided to do a sponsor slim , hoping to lose two and a half stone each between 1st January and easter Saturday. Daisy has sacrificed alot the last few months and been so brave , so we have both said we will sacrifice one of our loves FOOD to say a great big thank you to the ward and RMH for all they have done for Daisy.
