Hi, My husband David was a fit man, he had ran many marathons over the last 15 years and the love of his life was running. David was diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease on 6th October 2015. Motor Neurones Disease is a rare illness, where the coordination from your brain to your muscles breaks down, and your muscles start to waste away. It effects everybody differently, but can effect the ability to use your hands, walk, talk, eat, and eventually breath. Motor neurones disease does not usually effect your mind. It is a really cruel disease. we will need so many adaptions to help Dave in his day to day life, to make things easier for him and me. It is heart breaking to watch MND rob him of most things, but this will not beat us or take our spirit. We set up this page originally to raise money for a mobility scooter for Dave, however, last week we were contacted by a lovely man who has donated a fantastic scooter to Dave, we are totally overwhelmed by his families generosity. Dave would now like to put this money towards a stair lift and an indoor wheelchair. we would like to thank everybody who has donated so far. we have some amazing support x
