I'm planning to run in 5 events over the next 6 months starting with an 8km 'Maverick' trail run on 13th May and ending with my first ever Half Marathon on 8th October. In that time I hope to raise at least £800 to help a wonderful family pay for desperately needed cancer treatment.
Michele Ammolla was diagnosed in February last year with Stage 3 rectal cancer. Throughout the year he went through chemo, radiotherapy and finally bowel surgery, all with a positive outcome. But in March of this year further scans showed nodules on his lungs which had also spread to his liver, Micheles' diagnosis is now terminal. The only hope Michele now has to prolong his life long enough to be with his beautiful wife,Georgina and see his '2 gorgeous boys grow up into young men' is a drug therapy AVASTIN which can only be paid for privately.
