I'm Running the Birmingham 2018 Marathon to raise money for Touchstones. They're a small, local charity with one very simple aim – to be there for any bereaved child and young person in North East Worcestershire – including Redditch, Bromsgrove, Wythall, Rubery, Hagley.

I'm also running in memory of my son Ollie who's life was taken far to early in May this year at the age of 19. I told him one day I'd run a Marathon and even though he's not here to see it, his spirit and inspiration is and this will drive me over the finish line!

My training partner is a brave lady called Janet Easen who witnessed the tragic events that led to Ollie's death, being in the car behind his. As part of her recovery process she's also running the Marathon and is raising money for the road safety charity Brake.
