We are raising money for our little boy/our best friend. Pedro is a pug and is currently just seven month old. He is a loving dog and happy dog, myself and my partner could not imagine our lives without him. Recently we had noticed that Pedro was not walking properly and kept falling over. We were referred to the Langford Vets University in Bristol and was seen by a Neurological specialist. Pedro was presented with a history of being unsteady on his back limbs noted to be progressive for the past month. He had become progressively more uncoordinated and did not seem to be in pain. After further investigations at Langford Vets the MRI of the thoraco-lumbar spine revealed a misshapen vertebra in the thoracic area (T8) that is causing an abnormal curvature of the spine, which causes moderate compression of the spinal cord and the MRI of the cervical spine revealed mild changes that could represent a small dilation of his subarachnoid space (subarachnoid diverticulum) at C2C3 with mild spinal cord compression. Pedro will require surgery and the aim of the surgery is to stabilise the spinal column to prevent further spinal cord compression or contusions with custom made plates. Unfortunately this procured is not cheap and will cost us around £9600 but crucial for Pedro to lead a normal happy life.

Because this is a condition Pedro was born with our insurance and other insurances will not pay out as the illness occurred before the insurance policy started. We love our puppy dearly and for him to have the best chance at life we can not pass up having this vital operation. I am not one to ask for money however I've promised my little puggy I will do what ever it takes to make him better.
