    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Performance in People is aiming to raise over £500 for the Children’s Ward at St Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight. We’re putting a team together to complete the Tough Mudder assault course on 23/09/17.

We’re completing this challenge in memory of Caleb Toby Smith. Caleb sadly passed away at just 4 years old. Caleb faced many challenges over his short life. A liver transplant at the age of 16 months, countless blood tests and hospital admissions for infections and tests to name a few. On March 23 2017, Caleb went into hospital for a routine tonsillectomy. For reasons no one can explain, he was unable to recover from his anaesthetic in recovery and admitted to Paediatric Intensive Care. After working on him for over 24 hours, Caleb suffered a catastrophic bleed across his brain. Nothing could be done to save him, nor could anything more be done to raise his low blood pressure.

If there's one thing you could remember about Caleb's personality, it was that he never stopped smiling! Throughout all of his tough times, Caleb's character shone through. He continued to laugh, smile, joke and think of others both older and younger than himself.

Caleb was without doubt the most courageous little boy we’ve ever met. Throughout every adversary faced he never stopped smiling and just cracked on with life. He was an inspiration and a true hero! His loss is unbearable but his memory and smile will be remembered by all who met him.

The money we raise will be donated to the Isle of Wight Children’s Ward who played a massive role in supporting both Caleb and his family. The Fund supports and enhances the work of the local NHS by providing the ‘extras’ which are not automatically funded by the NHS. Items such as specialist equipment, furniture, artwork, children’s toys etc. These all help improve and directly enhance the environment for patients and staff. The Fund also supports staff education and training.

Forever remembering Caleb Toby Smith 26/04/12 - 24/03/17
