Story
Droylsden Cricket Club is a long established community run sports club. DCC is self funded and replies on the community to maintain and support the club.
DCC is looking to raise a total sum of £600 in an effort to provide some much needed maintenance to the ground to support our on going effort to bring children and teenagers into both Cricket and DCC. All monies raised will spent on equipment and supplies or repairs to existing equipment.
To raise this money we are staging an 80 mile bike ride to Headingley Cricket Ground.
6 riders including my self will embark on the 80 mile round trip to the home of Yorkshire Cricket Club. With some 4000 to 6000 feet of climbing over the 80 miles it is set to be a challenging endeavour.
The ride will take place on Sunday 1st April, departing at 8am from our club ground Oakfield, next to Active Tameside Medlock Sports centre. We will travel up towards Oldham before heading across the Yorkshire moors to Huddersfield, Halifax then on via Bradford before we arrive at Headingley. Having a short rest stop before heading back to Droylsden Cricket Club.
