    Story

Ok, so anyone that knows me knows that I enjoy nothing more than a nice pint of ale in an old boozer. So much so that I have been known to lose track of time and enjoy it a little bit too much!! So i've decided to challenge myself to a month of alcohol free living in order to get myself a bit fitter (difficult to believe that this is possible I know!) and also raise a few quid for the Critical Care Unit at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton. They do amazing work and like most of our NHS are always desperate for funds.

Now I know this may appear easy or trivial to some, but thats not how I see it. I'm not going to be a hypocrite and i'm certainly not going to preach here, I'll be the first to admit that I can very easily take for granted how much I drink, its not that I think I'm putting my self at risk as such, just that I'd like to think i can keep things in check. I'm hoping a bit of time off and maybe getting on my bike, a few lengths in the pool and generally doing more exercise might offer a bit of a different perspective...don't get me wrong...at the end of this i'll most likely be straight to the boozer for a good few ales...but perhaps it'll open my eyes a little and pave the way for a healthier routine.

I shall be having my last glass of red this evening (24th Sept), then i intend to be COMPLETELY alcohol free until October the 28th, which happens to be the Saturday before my birthday!

I'm hoping to raise £300 for the Critical Care Unit, they really do an amazing job, constantly under extremely emotional and desperate circumstances.

Anyway, bottoms up for the last time for a month or so....please donate, see you on the other side!! xx

Ok so I'm coming to the end of this stintbof not drinking and it's been a real eye opener. I think I'll be changing my habits a little but I tell you what... I can't wait to get a few down me!! Thanks to everyone who has donated to the Critical Care Unit. This whole thing was a way of saying thanks for the care they have shown to people I know when they needed it most. Still time to donate, but this is my last day folks I'm having a drink tomorrow! Please throw a fiver/tenner in if you can! Cheers!! X

Hi all, so today see's me halfway through this attempt at sober October. I'd be lying if i said it hasn't been a bit tough at times, like most of us I suppose, I'm so used to my social life revolving around having a drink! On the whole though, this has been a positive thing for me..and with your help I'm over the moon to raise a few quid for the Critical Care unit at New Cross Hospital. They look after people in dire circumstance on a daily basis and need all the help they can get. so dig deep folks! Thanks! x

I'm Lee Perry, I wanted to raise some funds for the Critical Care Unit at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton as they have taken care of a few friends of mine in very difficult circumstances and have always amazed me at how they deal with patients, family and friends.
