Story
The Phelan School of Dance is looking for help to send 7 talented dancers who have been selected to represent Scotland at the Dance World Cup in Barcelona in June 2018. Dance World Cup is the largest, most prestigious competition of its kind in the world and our dancers will perform 13 dances, chosen by a panel of judges from thousands of entries across the country. We are so proud of this achievement and the hard work from these girls to get to world class standard.
We are looking to raise £100 for each dancer to go towards their membership fees and team costume. It's an expensive trip so any assistance at all will be so greatly appreciated.
Heres a little bio written by each of our 7 dancers:
Claire
Hi I'm Claire, I'm 15 years old and have been dancing with Phelan School of Dance since I was 2. I am a Senior Dancer in The Spirit of Scotland Show in Edinburgh and love performing in this show. I am a proud Auntie to Jack and I'm so excited to be representing Team Scotland at Dance World Cup.
Christina
My name is Christina and I am 9 years old. Me and my friends were chosen to represent Scotland at Dance World Cup 2018. I've been dancing at the Phelan School since I was 2 years old. I love dancing because it always puts me in a good mood and I want to be a famous dancer when I am older. Please, if you can support us for our trip to Barcelona we would be so grateful.
Lexi
Hi. My name is Lexi and I am 7 years old. I have been dancing at Phelan School of Dance since the age of 2 and competing since I was 4. I have won lots of medals and trophies for my dancing and recently became the Under 10 tap and modern champion. I was so lucky to be chosen to represent Scotland at last years Dance World Cup in Germany and was proud to bring home a bronze medal for my song and dance, being the youngest in the section. This year I will be performing 8 dances and I cant wait! I hope I can make you all proud If you can help us in any way, we will be so thankful.
Morven
Hi, my name is Morven and I am 14 years old. I have been dancing at the Phelan School of Dance since I was 3 years old and I am so excited to be representing Scotland in the Dance World Cup for the second year. I had such a fun time last year and can't wait to go to Barcelona this year!
Jude
Hi, I am Jude and I am 15 years old. I have been dancing at the Phelan School of Dance for 13 years and I am very proud to be part of such an amazing dance school. At Phelan I have been given several amazing opportunities but the biggest of them all is being chosen to represent Scotland in the Dance World Cup. I am very proud and honoured and hope to do my Country, dance school and you all proud.
Tamzin
Hi, my name is Tamzin and I am 17 years old. I have been dancing at Phelan School of Dance for 14 years now. I am so excited to have been selected for the 2nd year in a row to represent Team Scotland in the Dance World Cup. Last year I had an amazing time and won a Silver medal for my tap solo.
Roisin
Hi. my name is Roisin and I'm 16 years old. I have been dancing at the Phelan School of Dance for 14 years now and have loved every minute of it! As well as dance I also perform as part of Forth Children's Theatre. Last year I competed in Germany at Dance World Cup, and to say I am so privileged to be representing my country again is an understatement. The Dance School has given me so many opportunities and built me as a person. I am so thankful for this experience and to be sharing it with such talented girls and teachers.
We will keep everyone updated via our Facebook page and the event itself is streamed live if you wish to watch. Thanks in advance for your support.

6 years agoThank you to everyone for helping us get to our target of £700 - we are so grateful and this money will go towards membership/entry fees for the girls to attend the competition. We are keeping the page open as one of the Dance mums (Claire’s Mum Lesley) is running the Inverness half marathon on 11 March and she wishes any donations to go to the girls fundraising efforts. We have added £100 to the total for this purpose. We all wish Lesley the best of luck 🍀
