    Story

Most of us would support the need for more houses but building “Houses without Healthcare” creates significant problems both now and for the future. Very large "new towns", such as Hampden Fields in Aylesbury, are being forced through despite NHS objections that local GP and hospital services (Stoke Mandeville/Wycombe) cannot cope with the increased pressure on existing services.

Currently the law says that the NHS must be "consulted" but then they can essentially be ignored. This is a national disgrace when we are all too aware of the importance the NHS plays in all our lives. Your funds will contribute to a legal case that will challenge this in court and stand as a test case against any other developments that do not provide adequate NHS facilities.

The case is against a 3,200 house Hampden Fields ’New Town’ in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire which puts significant additional pressure on Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe hospitals as well as existing GP surgeries in Wendover, Aston Clinton and Aylesbury. The development does not provide suitable healthcare facilities and is severely criticised by the NHS - they have been essentially ignored as the Council pushed the development through!

Please help us to fight this outrageously large overdevelopment, win this case and change the law to make it illegal for councils to approve new developments without the NHS authorities first confirming that the healthcare provision is adequate and developers are paying a fair contribution towards this from their profits.

We have also launched a parliamentary petition below which we would love you to sign and share widely

Please keep going! A worthy cause and so close to the target. Let's send a message from the entire county to Buckinghamshire Council and show them that we will not let the planners do as they please
