Emily and I are going to be spending the next year in a number of different countries in South Asia, with the aim of finding some excellent charities with whom we can work together to make a positive difference to local people. One of the places we have found is a small school in rural Nepal. The school currently welcomes 72 students, aged 3-10, all from extremely poor backgrounds. A man named Shamser set up and runs the school in order to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to a good education and the enormous benefits that it brings.

One of the things that the school desperately lacks at the moment is access to the Internet. This would be useful for them in so many different ways, increasing the quality of the lessons, growing the reach of the school and allowing the leaders of the school investigate ways of raising funds for new opportunities. The cost to get Internet for the school is $300 – hopefully together we can reach this target easily.

If we exceed this target, we will discuss with Shamser how that money can best be used, and we would hope to be able to create a school library, a play area, and a vegetable garden.
