Weʼve raised £210 to help Rabbit Rescue North West look after and re-home neglected rabbits

Funded on Friday, 26th October 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

I am doing the Great Birmingham Run - half a marathon on the 14th October to help raise funds in support of Rabbit Rescue North West.

Having owned a few rabbits I can say with confidence that they are NOT "cheap and easy to care for", in fact they are the opposite and if appropriate research hasn't been carried out before getting a rabbit, very often they end up with either expensive veterinary bills and poor quality of life or suffering.

We want to try and educate people before they consider getting a rabbit - they can live for upto 10 years and are animals for life, just like a dog or cat ends up being part of the family.

Rabbits are intelligent and vibrant animals who are an utter joy to have as pets, but should be cared for with thorough research and commitment.

Rabbit Rescue North West - Registered Charity Number 1170499

Having worked alongside the RSPCA Rabbit Rescue North West realised there was an urgent need for a rabbit rescue in the north west. Rabbits are the third most popular pet in Britain but are also a very neglected and often misunderstood pet. They are a highly intelligent and sociable animal, who need daily exercise and mental stimulation.

Rabbit Rescue North West aim is to help bunnies in need to find loving forever homes. All bunnies will be neutered, vaccinated with the combi vac for Myxi/VHD1 and some will have been vaccinated for the new variant RVHD2.

The cost of adopting a single bunny from us is £40, a pair £70. This price includes the cost of neutering, vaccinations, room and board! The adoption price is minimal compared to the actual cost to us to help rehome these bunnies.

Please help us to raise awareness for rabbits, including care requirements and cost.
