Story
Simon and Michelle Marshall started Phoenix back in 2012 with a handful of like minded parents who simply wanted their child to enjoy a sport they loved in a safe and friendly environment. Over the course of their first year they grew from 7 children to almost 70 children taking part in football for fun every week.
Fast forward to 2018 and the couple still have the same drive they had then but now they have over 200 members of the Club and they have decided to become a permanent fixture in the community by building a Community Hub on Russell Road, High Park.
Norwood Ward in Southport is one of the most deprived areas in Sefton. With above average levels of unemployment, childhood obesity and anti-social behaviour. Our aim is to engage the Community as a whole through this Community Hub. Offering sports, education, drop in coffee mornings and also Youth Clubs, counselling sessions much more, The aim is to reduce isolation and to increase participation in community activities. This in turn will help reduce instances of anti-social behaviour and give the younger members of the community something to do.
