Weʼve raised £860 to Help fund physiotherapy for Daniel

    Story

Daniel is 25 and had been out in Maidstone with friends and had an accident.

Daniel fell about 20-25 foot down a bank, he landed on his bottom which broke his back on the T11 and T12 spine, which ripped his spinal cord and resulted in Daniel being paralysed from just above the waist down.

Daniel spent 6 weeks at St George's Hospital and then 10 weeks at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore for rehabilitation, this has really helped him recover and learn how to deal with his disabilities.

All funds raised will help pay towards specialist physio that Daniel has been attending in Gatwick and Watford called Neurokinex. Daniel started with Neurokinex Watford at the beginning of October 2016, where he received 6 sessions funded by the NHS.

Daniel has carried on with the sessions at his own cost, as this level of physio is not covered under the NHS.

Neurokinex have greatly helped Daniel with their support, as he was told he would never have use of his legs again. Daniel has been able to move his right leg up and down, wiggles his toes on his left foot and now has more sensation in both legs and hips.

At this present time Daniel is attending the Neurokinex branch at Gatwick, who specialise in Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES). This treatment has provided Daniel with more mobility in his legs however because it is a specialised treatment, the cost is nearly £1300 for each course. We are trying to raise as much money as possible to enable Daniel to continue to receive this treatment plan which has made such an improvement already. Any donations are gratefully received no matter how large or small.
