I am Aaisha Ahmed, an 18-year-old Scout Leader, and I will be hiking the magnificent Mount Snowdon, Wales, during the middle of July. I aim to raise at least £500 for Rohingya refugees.

I will be hiking with my scout group – Beech Hill Scout Group - where I often volunteer as a Scout Leader. This scouting organisation has offered many opportunites, to all involved, since it was first established in 2005. Now we have an amazing opportunity to climb Mount Snowdon whilst raising money for this remarkable cause.

Rohingya refugees have been denied citizenship from Myanmar and when they were met with violence in the Rakine State, in August 2017, they began to flee the country. Since then, over 700,000 have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh; with over half of these refugees being just children!

In the coming months, monsoon rains will worsen the already inhumane conditions the Rohingyan refugees are living in by causing landslides and flooding. Currently, thousands are suffering from treatable illnesses, but do not have the appropriate aid to recover.

Your donations will allow us to send the necessary aid and support to the Rohingya refugees. Not only may you help save lives, but also put a smile on the faces of those who need it most. :)
