Pompeypunks (a local living history project, recording peoples memories of the alternative music scene in the PO postcode area) has been run voluntarily for 9 years and is now seeking funding to upgrade its site. We need a programmer to create a sophisticated tagging system so we, as custodians of the Punk Project, can, along with storing the archives already gathered, assist members in adding their own photos/memories. £800 will provide 2 days of a programmers skills.
The aim is that the content of the site is owned by us and no other social media or archive project.

WHAT IS THE PUNK PROJECT?
The Portsmouth Punk Project is run by Millstream Productions and partnered with the Portsmouth Cultural Trust, the Portsmouth Music Experience and Students from Havant College.

It consists of a documentary and interactive local music experience, housed in its own room, within the Access All Areas Exhibition, currently situated on the 1st Floor of the Guildhall Portsmouth (also a voluntary project).

WHAT'S THE PLAN?
The whole body of work from the Punk Project, will be launched at an event in November 2016, where Pompeypunks hope to have the site ready to publish the material gathered and to enable any additional photos and memories, still to be brought down from peoples lofts!, to be uploaded by members themselves.

HOW WILL IT WORK?
Recently the Portsmouth Punk Project, Pompeypunks, Dresscode and local punks have been working together with the aim of creating an accurate account of the history of the Alternative Music Scene in Portsmouth. The Punk Project have asked Pompeypunks to be the custodian of the work being produced. This money will complete the final stage of the functionality of the site.
