The nuns of Poor Clare Colettine Monastery are in need of help to raise funds to enable them to rebuild their monastery, which is falling apart around them. The problems they face on a daily basis include the main roof is leaking, a waste pipe is broken which is under the cloister and fungus is growing through the ceiling.

Some of the ground floor wood floors have woodworm, the sisters are aged between 33 and 83 with many of them needing walking aids or wheelchairs its important to have solid flooring to reduce the risk of falls, they have taken to taping up the floor where there are issues so that the sisters see where the soft areas are.

There are many issues with the pipes and guttering in "extremely poor condition".

These ladies are an inspiration to all of us ! They dedicate their lives for what they believe in. They are an enclosed order and spend their days with pray for the world and its needs.

They have helped me in so many ways emotionally and spiritually and I am not part of their community but they have taken me in as a friend and they feel like family to me now. Each and every nun within this monastery has the most loving and caring hearts and it breaks my heart they are living with such conditions.

They have many fundraising ideas up their sleeves, this justgiving page could get them started on their way. I know building a house will cost more than £1000 but every penny makes a pound and you have to start somewhere.
