Story
A lost piece of history from the Cardigan coast line. Thanks to Genine.
Aims: to visit communities, schools, groups and events through out Cymru promoting its real history: Native castles, it's musical instruments like the Pibgorn, Traditions like the Mari Lwyd, it's ancient tree's, it's ancient springs, dinosaur footprints. This is for everyone that has a love for cymru, without any borders.
Over the years we and various organisations have collected many artefacts, and we have been searching for somewhere to display them. But unfortunately due to lack of funding we have not been able to show the rich heritage that we have.
A PORTABLE MUSEUM, is a museum on wheels that will be visiting many places all over the principality with many different artefacts on-board which will be accessible and displayed to the public at their leisure, with laminated boards and information packs. The artefacts will include archaeological items, geological specimens, botanical examples, and even examples of our traditions, such as an actual Mari Lwyd and pibgorn.
The Portable Museum in regard to Cymru, will focus on its REAL history, its native castles that most children might not have been told about at school. The Hywel dda coin, its ancient trees that would rallying points of princes, and even the truth behind Owain Glyndwr. So much is out there.
We will have experts on the bus in different fields, musicians, re-enactors, story tellers and even craftsmen.
The museum will then be funded by donations, sales, and memberships.
Taking the museum to isolated villages, events up and down the land, and even sited at busy supermarkets would get the message out there. Going to the people!
