Weʼre raising £300,000 to help the families who have been devastated by the forest fire which took the life of 61 victims and has destroyed homes and dreams.

On Saturday, 17 June an intense heatwave and rainless thunderstorms, with temperatures of more than 40C (104F) has hit Portugal taking the life of dozens of people who fled their homes looking for a safest place in the middle of the forest.

The country is now mourning for the 64 victims of one of the country's deadliest forest fires where bodies have been found inside of cars, in their villages and on the motorway. Police say lightning striking a tree may have caused the fire.

This is an authentic page, created by someone with Portuguese roots. The money raised will go to some of the people who lost their possessions. Every contribution will be greatly appreciated.
