Ian was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy when he was 7 years old and he is now a full-time wheelchair user. Due to his condition he is very limited in the sports he can access. Recently he, along with his brother have begun playing Powerchair Football at a new club launched in Frome, Somerset by Nova Sports and Coaching.

Powerchair Football is a brilliant sport that provides an opportunity for children and adults with a physical disablilty to play a team sport in a social enviornment. It is also an opportunity for both boys to play a sport together as equals. We are keen to raise money for Ian to have his own sports powerchair so he can play safely and comfortably with a chair which will aid performance so Ian can play at a competitive level.

As the club is just starting out the number of chairs is limited, so we have decided to have 2 sponsored events to raise money. The boys will be taking part in a sponsored penalty shoot-out at the Frome Powerchair Football Launch Event on the 16th June. They will also be joined by a group of their friends from our Church to do a sponsored cycle ride on the 7th July. Please encourage the boys by donating. Your generosity will go towards a chair for Ian which will give him the freedom to enjoy the sport and it will also benefit the club!
