    Story

We oppose the proposal to build on the North Oxford Golf Course and the area east of the Banbury Road, between Cutteslowe Park and Oxford Parkway station - all Green Belt land. Both proposals would lead to coalescence of Oxford with Kidlington and be detrimental to the setting of the internationally recognised historic city of Oxford. Development of the countryside between the park and the station would have a detrimental effect on the open countryside, access to it and the setting of two Grade 2 listed buildings. This area also has no eastern boundary so there is risk of onward spread of development in future years towards Islip.

All indications are that executive housing would be built to meet demand from commuters to London; this would not address Oxford's unmet housing need.

We have had fantastic support thank you. We are delighted to tell you that with the online and cash donations we have achieved our target. Many many thanks for your support. We will close the page for donations. We still need your support, sending your views to Cherwell District Council to show the strength of feeling and to confront the flaws in their plans.

We think this countryside should be preserved rather than having a relatively small amount of housing built on it. We oppose the coalescence of Oxford with Kidlington. We are fearful that as this site has no eastern boundary in the future there will be further proposals for development.

Our first fundraising activity raised £1352. This is a fantastic response and reflects people's concern about Cherwell District Council's proposals and their impact. We still need additional funds to cover the professional advice we are taking so are asking for your support to raise the remainder.
