Story
Princess – The Toy Delivering Truck
One of our good customers recently went above and beyond to do their bit for underprivileged children. Jim Jamieson Quarries Ltd launched ‘Princess’, a special bright pink truck, into their fleet last month in an attempt to make the children of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) smile - the day was a huge success!
The idea for Princess came from Gemma Jamieson Cameron after hearing about the story of five-year-old Eileidh Paterson who is being treated for neuroblastoma at the hospital. Gemma donated £1,000 into a toy gift fund. Over the past 12 months donations including DVD’s, Books, DVD players and Toys came flooding in from companies across the North East of Scotland, adding up to over £4,000 worth of gifts.
On April 20th Princess was filled with the toys, gifts and treats, then sent to the front of RACH to surprise the children.
“The truck really caused a stir. We even had children watching from the window as the truck pulled up” said Gemma.
HARSH had been working in secret with Jamieson Quarries for some time on this project. The 8x4 SCANIA had our super stable, super reliable K110N Stabilized Underfloor Tipping Gear mounted to it. Then, once the demolition body was fitted, we added our world leading Slide ‘N’ Cover Sheeting System to the truck, with the all important pink tarpaulin to match the glorious themed paint work.
The immediate future for Princess is a full calendar of school fayres and truck shows championing the cause and work done at RACH. HARSH applaud Gemma and Jamieson Quarries for their hard work and incredibly generous support for a truly outstanding hospital.
HARSH will be echoing this support at Tip-Ex in June, on stand B1 - B4 at the Harrogate Convention Centre. Donations will be collected throughout the three-day show in a bid to support RACH. The HARSH team will even be dressed up in pink to raise as much as we possibly can.
