Weʼve raised £1,647 to buy science and maths equipment for Bajabulile Primary School
- Funded on Sunday, 5th November 2017
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
For the past year, we've been supporting this wonderful Primary school which serves the local community in the Mamelodi township, just outside Pretoria, South Africa.
The school is the first to have a laboratory in the township where children are eager to learn and develop their skills in science and technology. Their enthusiasm to be the best they can be is infectious and after the success of the building project which was supported by so many we now need equipment and resources in maths and science to finish the job which will enable children to conduct practical experiments and develop the skills they need to build a better world for themselves and their families.
Why are we doing this?
We want to change the life chances of children in South Africa so that they can get out of poverty and build a better country and world for themselves. Yes, we could sit and do nothing and moan about the present difficulties the country has but instead we are choosing to do something positive that we know will change lives.
In October, Natasa will be walking the Great Wall of China and Pritpal will be walking across the Sahara desert. These walks will be a physical challenge for both of us but give us an opportunity to walk for something we believe in. We are aiming to raise £1,000 each for the school and welcome any donations that people would like to make, however small - every penny counts!
Thank you so much for your support and generosity!
