Limavady Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide L.I.P.S is a new charity set up to help those struggling with mental health or suicide.

Suicide is something that you never think is going to darken your doorway, in 2016 this all changed for my family! My beloved cousin Jamie took his own life! Nobody ever suspected that Jamie, a successful, talented, intelligent young man would ever be struggling. Its apparent in todays society that he was not the only one struggling and felt he couldnt ask for help.

Throughout this shockingly difficult time, Jamies parents have helped to raise awareness to support others in need through this amazing charity. More needs to be done and we can all help to make a difference. You never know when it could darken your doorway!

My best friend Elena Figini (massy) and I have decided to run the Derry City and Strabane Waterside half marathon in September to support this amazing cause. We are far from athletes but we are training hard and will give it 100%
