Story
Goedgedacht Trust set up the Path out of Poverty programme in 1988 to help children in rural Cape Town whose parents suffered racial inequality, exploitation and alcohol problems. They work towards guiding young children (some with foetal alcohol syndrome and many orphans) who have suffered from these familial issues into adulthood.
In the summer of 2017, I will be travelling to Cape Town, South Africa with 40 other pupils from Cowbridge Comprehensive School to work with the trust. The aims of this trip will be to:
understand and appreciate the situation of children in rural Cape Town living with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome
share our own knowledge and skills with the children to help them in their journey to adulthood and support the construction of new education centres
maintain the relationship of Cowbridge Comprehensive with the trust so that our support can continue into the future
To make this trip possible I will need all the help I can get and would be extremely grateful for any donations!
