My sister Rachel and her husband Paul are expecting their first baby in October. Unfortunately at their 20 week scan they were given the news that their little one has a complex congenital heart disease.

Due to the complexities of the condition - delivery, treatment and surgery will take place in London, requiring a significant amount of time in hospital both in the first few weeks after birth as well as within babies first year.

Rachel and Paul naturally want to be as close to their little one as possible throughout this time but this of course will have cost implications.
