In August 2017 my dad George collapsed, not knowing that out of nowhere he had become the unfortunate recipient of a condition called Transverse Myelitis. In simple terms this is an infection that attacks the spinal cord, which means that George has not been able to walk at all since.

After being a patient for over 8 months at Marie Therese House Rehabilitation Centre in Hayle, George would like to give them something back for their amazing help and a ceiling hoist seems appropriate. George's hospital room, like many in there, did not have it's own hoist, a piece of equipment that was desperately needed on a daily basis.

George is such a lovely man and he really doesn't deserve this life changing event but, just like he always is, he's being super positive and would love to help others in the same situation to have the vital hoists they need at the centre to make their rehab less problematic.
