What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Shingal Antenatal and Midwife Outreach Project

Sinjar (Shingal in Kurdish) is a town in Kurdistan that has been devastated by years of war. For the mothers and children of Shingal city and surrounding devastated villages, there is no opportunity to access antenatal care. There are no female doctors in Shingal or midwives. This puts the health, and ultimately the lives of both mothers and children, at risk.

We are raising funds for a clinic in the heart of the destroyed city to provide advice, monitoring, medical checks and babycare.

This is critical for the very vulnerable and much neglected population.

How am I going to raise money - Random Acts of Kindness

Myself and my friends are raising money for this great cause by asking you to sponsor us. We are raising money for charity, by doing charity.

We are looking for sponsorship for us to take part in ‘random acts of kindness’. This will not only ultimately benefit the Shingal Antenatal and Midwife Outreach Project, but will benefit our local communities in and around London, as we will do random acts of kindness for local people in need.

So, what will I be doing?

1. Personal care for homeless people: Distributing much needed personal care and food packages for homeless people in London. These will contain food, toiletries and socks.
2. Revitalising run down city playgrounds: With playgrounds being vital for the local children of Wood Green, North London we will work together to clear the area of rubbish and glass, so children can play safely.
3. Community Day in Wood Green: This will be a day of planting flowers and cleaning the streets, all fuelled by cups of teas and biscuits. We aim to help revitalise the community spirit of Wood Green, North London.

We are always open and eager to hear of new ideas for Random Acts of Kindness. Please get in touch with your suggestions or if you would like to get involved via my email address

So I’ve just finished my second random act of kindness and this time it’s one a little closer to home. I’ve recenlty been redoing my garden and my neighbour had commented on how she wished she could do something with hers but it’s too overgrown and she’s on her own and doesn’t know where to start.... So this morning my mum, my son and I set to work, clearing the brambles and getting it to a point where it start to make it her own.... some before and after pics....

So the first act of kindness was done tonight... 100 food and toiletries parcels handed out tonight in London... some harrowing stories were told and the night ended with me having to help a homeless guy who was very poorly and an ambulance had to be called... humbled by the struggle that these people go through. Here’s a photo of the parcels that were made up and proud of the fine tuned production line that was in place to produce them... thanks to my family and friends for the support today and all of the kind donations.
