    Story

On February 7th me and husband went to nine wells hospital thinking our little one would be arriving early. My due date was February 19th and we had slowly got everything set. I had a very hard pregnancy with multiple infections and illness. But what kept me going was the thought of holding my baby boy. I felt something unsettling but put my worries aside. When they did the first heartbeat monitor they told me they found a faint heartbeat. In that moment tears came rushing down as I felt a sense of relief. I apologised for my silliness but the midwife reassured me and told us we'd get a sonography to double check. Within the next hour my world came crashing down on that day when we were told no heart beat was found. I screamed at the doctors to check again several times as my husband fell to his knees crying. That day I felt my heartbreak and the pain was soul breaking,The doctors and nurses supported us as best they could and the tulip suite in Dundee became our home for the next few days. On February 9th at 12.10am after a hard induced labour I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy weighing near to 9 pounds.Unfortunately I was immediately rushed into emergency surgery but the cuddle cot provided kept my baby boy as he was. If it wasn't for this I don't know what we would've done. My whole world had crumbled but holding my boy was something I will never forget. His beautiful rosy chubby cheeks and button nose like mine. Me waiting for him to smile as he tongue looked like he was pulling a cheeky face.10 days away from my due date we buried our son the day he was born at 2.30pm. This fundraising as a parent who lost a child is giving me hope to bring to someone who unfortunately will go through the same awful thing. I want them to be able to spend as much time as they can and then be able to feel some sort of peace in those final moments. My son will and is a part of me. The last moments will always stay with me.
