Story
We are the Robert Carre Trust Environmental Society, an environmental action group based at Carre's Grammar School in Sleaford. We are a passionate group of young conservationists who hope to take large strides towards connecting wildlife with our community. An upcoming project we will be soon instigating is the RCTES Nestbox Scheme. With support from local businesses such as Turnbull's and Jewson's, who will donate the materials needed, we want to have a significant impact on local bird populations. To do this, we will be distributing free bird boxes throughout the community, starting with local primary schools with an aim of opening the scheme up to the general public. During the breeding season, we plan to audit these bird boxes, without causing any disturbance to the birds themselves, to find out what nests in our bird boxes. We will then create an annual report, crediting all the local businesses and organisations that have helped us.
