Story
The Queen Elizabeth Parks Project is making another visit to several schools in south western Uganda this summer. We have the opportunity to purchase reusable and environmentally friendly sanitary protection for some of the girls in our twinned schools on a 'buy one get one free' basis from Earthwise Girls - a company in Abingdon. Having adequate sanitary protection means that the girls are more likely to stay in school during their menstruation, and are therefore more likely to complete their education. This in turn reduces the likelihood of them staying at home to start families early in their lives, and smaller families means reduced demands on the local environment. There are many reasons to keep girls in school- not just the obvious ones!
The pads cost £4 small, £4.50 medium and £5 long, and the company will double whatever order we place in our capacity as QE Parks Project. Any donations will help support our Ugandan girls to stay at school during their periods- something that our girls take for granted.
Thank you!

7 years agoAwesome support- thank you Jan, we are nearly there! I will be contacting Earthwise Girls early next week and I have already alerted my Ugandan teacher friends to be ready to help when we get to QE National Park in July. We will be able to support more than 80 girls in 6 (or more ) schools. Fabulous support everyone- thank you so much! 🇺🇬❤️😁🇬🇧
