    Story

My rescued dogs Megan and Noah are my world. They have been the ones who have rescued me whilst suffering acute depression. They pulled me through when no one else could.

So as you can imagine to face the possibility of loosing them both the week before Christmas was heartbreaking.

Thankfully they were both insured but Noahs emergency lifesaving treatment has gone above his Insurance limit of £7500. I now find myself having to raise further funds to cover the shortfall and ongoing treatment. His treatment has so far cost nearly £9000 and he still requires further vet checks medication and to have his feeding tube removed.

I will be eternally grateful to the Vets that saved my boys life.

    a brief overview

18/12 I took Megan to the Vets with what I suspected to be and impacted anal gland. The vets advised based on the size they thought it was a tumor and if it was it would most likely be aggressive. She was sent home on pain Medication and antibiotics.
That night Noah started vomiting. He continued to be sick every 60 to 90 minutes.
19th he was a shadow of himself I took him to the Vets, within 3 hours his was having emergency surgery.
later that day Megan went back to the vets as she started bleeding and was admitted.

20th Megan had a biopsy scans and x-rays. She had a ruptured absess from her anal gland but was recovering Noah was still not recovering after surgery. Heavily medicated he had to stay in the Vets as Megan came home.

21st we rushed Noah to anemergency specialist where they suspected septic peritonitis and gave a 50/50 chance.

22nd. Megan was in too much pain so I took her back to the vet as I received the phone call to say Noah had Septic Peritonitis. Noah underwent more emergency surgery and Megan was admitted for pain relief.

23rd Noah survived and was placed in ICU. Megan came home.

    Noah spent Christmas in ICU.

Noah continued to recover and came home on 27th home but needs further care and surgery.

Had some great news that Noahs Biopsy results came back as inflammation nothing sinister. Also as Noah was such an amazing patient he didn't need to be put under anesthetic again for the removal of his feeding tube saving hundreds. Noah has still exceeded his Insurance limit by £1100 but thanks to my boy being such a fighter and good patient has saved us having to find another £1400. My gorgeous boy is alive and recovering thanks to the quick action of my local vets and the specialist vets. Massive thankyou to all helping him xx

Noah is still recovering at home on medication. We had a further trip or the vets yesterday to help with his feeding tube and get him some pain relief. We will have to continue on medication and caring for the feeding tube until he is well enough to be operated on to have it removed.
