A few days ago, a close family friend in Pakistan lost their home in a fire. A shop a few doors down had issues with their gas supply, which caused one of the electric cables running across the street to surge in power. This lead to a total of 4 houses plus the shop to catch fire. Fortunately enough, no one was too badly injured. However, this family had very little as it was, and now all they owned was lost in the fire.

The family consists of 4 daughters, 1 son, and both parents.
In Pakistan, it's a custom to give gold at your daughters wedding. The parents had saved as much as they could over their lives but it was little enough as it was. Now they're back to square one, with no possessions, no home, and no money. They're currently living in a friends house 5 doors down in a very crowded shack. The other 3 families are in a near identical situation.

We have already raised approximately £2000 over the past few days and the money will be used to directly help the families rebuild their homes. Hopefully we raise enough to help all 4 to start over. In Pakistan, even a pound goes a long way, so any little really does help.
