They purposely limit materials needed for construction, raising the costs, while also crippling the economy by restricting trade and cutting Gaza off from the world. They do not want the grass to grow. The unemployment rate has rocketed to around 50%, electricity is only a 1-3 hours a day and clean water is scarce. Life is incredibly hard.

Ali said to me recently that they feel pain when they see the photos from other countries. Life is not fair, but we do have the opportunity to help make things better. Ali is trying to rebuild their family home. His immediate priority is to get doors and windows before winter. A little bit from us can make a world of difference to them.
