The Red Box Project - how it works!

In most schools there are a few young people who lack access to sanitary protection. The result? Anxiety, embarrassment, missed lessons, missed education.

This should be a straightforward problem to solve. So here is what we are doing...

We will be sponsoring and stocking a red box filled with sanitary towels, tampons and spare pants. The box is for local schools and will be kept in school at Reception, with the Nurse, Student Services or with an appropriate member of staff.

Posters will be placed in the toilets to encourage a young person in need of sanitary items to ask for the red box and take what they need. Plain bags will be included for discretion. If they need supplies for their whole period, we’ll have their back.

No tearful panics in the loo. No wadded up toilet roll. No sitting awkwardly on one cheek. No anxious embarrassment. No missed lessons or staying home.

This is a simple project and is entirely funded by community kindness.

Let's be clear. We 📷❤️ our teachers and support staff and we recognise that they go the extra mile every day. We also think that as communities around our schools, we should step up and do our bit.

Over the new few weeks I’ll be speaking with the local schools to arrange to place our red boxes. If anybody has any contacts within the high schools in Stone, please do let me know.

We will be setting up a crowdfunding page for people to donate if they can, as well as an amazon link for people to buy direct if they can.

I’ll be speaking with local businesses to see if they can arrange to have a donation box available, for people to donate products directly.

I’ll also be able to arrange a donation point locally should anybody wish to drop off any donations directly.
