In August of 2011, we moved into our property. At the time, there were noticeable problems with the flat: leaking taps, stained carpets, molding from around the windows peeling away, no toilet seat.

Over time and with use, the flat has obviously gotten more downhill. The landlords refused to give any help for the problems. Since early 2012 we've had no heating, our windows have rotted, mold has started to take over all of the windows, tiles have cracked, the roof has a hole in, and all the taps now leak no matter what.

In our tenancy agreement it was stated that no animals such as cats or dogs were allowed. At the time, we had two cats, and couldn't get rid of them.

Both my and my mother's mental health and physical health is disastrously bad and only getting worse; our animals are, effectively, the only things keeping us going most of the time.

We cannot give our pets up. At the most desperate, we can keep one cat and one dog, because those are the animals we are most bonded with, and would not cope without us in turn. That will mean, however, losing four of our pets, and having to find suitable homes for them is a minefield.

Our family has practically disowned us, and there's no way to ask them for help. Additionally, we know no friends who could take our animals in for even a short period of time.

The money for this fundraiser will go to paying off our rent debts (at £275.22), and other bills such as water, council tax, and other necessities.

Any leftover money will go towards helping us move out of this flat and into somewhere better.
