Story
As you can see by my profile picture, Im no athlete but I have never the less decided to swim the English Channel! 3 months ago I was swimming widths of the baby pool and feeling very impressed with myself, I have since swam a mile and now set my goal on the 21mile feat. I will be using swim tag in a pool, Im not brave enough or fit enough to swim open water. All to raise money towards replacing Carol’s Wheelchair, here's a little background.
Carol’s chair has been her faithful stead for over 9 years, as the average lifespan of an ‘active user’ wheelchair (the term used for people who use them to get out and about on their own) is 2 to 3 years, it's no surprise then that Carol’s chair now has many terminal injuries such as a buckled frame and wheels held on by duct tape.
Carol has struggled to make it last as long as possible & spent a fortune on replacement parts, such as rear wheels with tyres recently that cost over £600 to replace, but sadly now it's time for it to join the mobility scrap heap in the sky. She only has two essentials in life, her assistance dog and wheelchair.
Please can you help spread the word of this appeal by sharing this campaign where possible? All donations will go a long way in improving Carol’s quality of life by giving her the biggest gift of all, independence. By helping, you have the power to change her life and enable Carol & Charlie to live life to the full, getting out and enjoying all the wonderful things life has to offer. You can also spread the word by sharing this appeal where possible or anything else you can think of to raise either awareness or funds will be gratefully appreciated. Every pound donated can make a tremendous impact on Carol’s life.
