I placed poppy on loan in May 2018 to what I thought was a knowledgeable home,.

I received devastating news of her condition (yesterday 10.07.2018)just 4 weeks after she had been seen by my physiotherapist (who sent me her report as I still own the horse) and 5 weeks after my last visit.

Riverside Poppet has been underfed, is malnourished and has been overworked for her body condition.
Her feet have been left unattended and this has caused her extreme pain in the soles of her hind feet as they should have been kept shod due to a mild shiver type trait, she was left with 1 hind shoe hanging on her feet and was continually worked in such condition causing muscle atrophy and potentially irreversible back problems.

I was informed my mare was unable to stand and continually fell over yet she remained in high intensity ridden work, she struggles to stand on hard ground with no shoes due to her poor foot condition.

in the words of her loaners "She looks like she has been through a blender" and that is an understatement, my poor mare has returned to me covered in cuts and sores from her head to her tail.

I have set up this crowd funding to help pay for the extensive vet, farriery, physiotherapy and nutritionist care that she is now receiving.
