I have been fortunate enough to be selected to represent Team GB in Ball hockey World Championships, taking place in the Czech Republic, June 2017.

Although the growth of ball hockey as a sport has seen great expansion globally it is still classed as a minority sport here in the UK. As such the burden of funding participation falls upon the individual players, therefore I am attempting to self-fund through donations & sponsorship.

Funds raised will go towards my travel & accommodation, ISBHF reg fees & my Team GB training kit. £500 is not the total amount of the trip, this would go towards the overall total!

I am extremely proud of being selected to represent Team GB, not only have I physically worked very hard on & off the court, I have overcome personal obstacles & also managed this achievement despite being partially sighted.

The hard work doesn’t stop now though, I will continue to train & push myself in the months leading up to & during the competition (you can follow my journey on Instagram).

To ensure I am being clear & honest, I have decided that If i manage to raise enough funds for my own trip & there is slight surplus, i shall be making a small donation to Age UK, Gateshead's 'Buy a bus campaign'. This is a charity that i work for & believe in. A new bus will help us continue to get older people out their homes which is essential in the effort to combat loneliness, a notorious silent killer amongst older people.
