Story
As with so many churches, we have had to close once more during lockdown to keep our members safe. Unfortunately there is little money coming in to keep the church running but the bills don't stop just because the church is closed. Our minister, Rev Janet Park came up with the crazy idea of running, cycling or walking the length of Britain from Land's End to John O'Groats or vice versa - we haven't decided yet! (Virtually of course!) The total distance is 970 km as the crow flies. There will be 3 of us sharing this challenge of each completing an average of 10 km daily throughout Lent, starting on 17th February - Janet, myself and John Bilsland, my running buddy. We are not athletes at all but determined to have a go in the hope that it will provide a point of interest for our members and friends during the dark days of winter, and raise enough money to pay the bills until we can all be together again safely. And you never know - we may get fit in the process!

3 years agoWell we are still going strong on bikes and on foot. We have now travelled over 700 km in 3 weeks which is over 430 miles. It hasn't been easy, as John has injured his foot and has to rest it for 3 weeks, so he is pedalling away on his exercise bike and completing well over 6 miles a day which is fantastic. Thank you so much for all your kind donations. Please keep praying for us and if you are able, please keep adding to our total to encourage us to keep walking, running and pedalling. Every penny counts so please help us.

3 years agoWe are 6 days into our challenge now and so far between the three of us we have travelled 227 kilometres which is an average of 37 kilometres each day. This is pretty amazing for 3 relatively unfit people! Let's hope we don't burn out by next weekend as we still have a long long way to go. Please keep praying for us and donate if you can.Thank you for all your support.
