Story
Two of the Rhyl Development ladies, Charlie Skeffington and Vicky Byrne are making the 32 mile walk along Brenig Way over two days, camping for the night whilst on route.
The Brenig Way starts in the beautiful Dee Valley and takes walkers into some of the quietest parts of Denbighshire, where peaceful paths snake though natural woodlands and along steep sided river valleys. It follows ancient drovers roads and passes even more ancient cairns, navigating its way through the Clocaenog Forest to reveal stunning views of the Clwydian range at Pincyn Llys and around Cyffylliog. It culminates in a steady, but isolated, climb along the Afon Clywedog, passing just a handful of houses, to reach Llyn Brenig at the Archaeological Trail. This is the site of a Bronze Age burial ground, with several ritual cairns creating a sense of solitude against the stunning backdrop of Hiraethog and Snowdonia. A gentle walk around the lake is completed by walking across the Brenig dam to finish the walk at the Visitors Centre for a well-earned treat.
The Rhyl Ladies Development Team were established for the 2017/18 season.
After the North Wales Women's Football League refused to allow the team to participate in the League the Football Association for Wales intervened and took over control of the League. Following this the team were able to make their competitive debut in February 2018.

6 years agoWe’ve completed the 32 mile walk along the Brenig Way and what a hike it was 😱 the sites were out of this world, but the pain in our backs and feet were awful. The over night camp was scary and very cold but we survived and pleased with the amount raised for the ladies. Hopefully we reach our target to get this team kitted out ready for winter ❄️ Thank you so much for all of your support xx
