Valley View Primary School is situated in a small village just outside the town of Jinja in Uganda. My nieces have been supporting Valley View for the past 10 years. During this time, they have built 8 brick classrooms, a toilet block, fitted the school with a water supply and provided teaching resources, equipment for the children and sponsorship to enable the poorest families to attend school.
Valley View requires continuous support to cover the general running costs as well as raising funds for future building projects, such as further classrooms and a library.
In order to support Valley View during the festive season, I am going to raise money by walking 10 miles from my house (Bury St Edmunds) to my family's house (Cockfield) on Christmas morning and then only eating plain rice, beans and water all day! No wine, turkey, cheese, crisps or any other festive foods!
