Weʼve raised £370 to help towards Steves ongoing Physiotherapy by climbing the national 3 peaks and cycling between each one. Please read about it here

Funded on Thursday, 1st June 2017

    Story

As most of you that know me will know Steve, a lot don't. Steve is a local man and a friend who suffered a series of strokes in 2013 which left him in a locked in condition.
The Halcyon Trust was set up to help pay for equipment & therapy for Steve. At present Steve is progressing amazingly well with his Physiotherapy and was able to sit on the side of his bed for the first time in 4 years the other week. For Steve to keep progressing the trust rely on donations, if the donations stop then Steve progress will stop which would be devastating.
My self and a friend Andy Stiles are embarking on a major challenge to raise money for two charities, The Halcyon Trust and Martin House Hospice which is a charity to help children with life shortening conditions. We wanted to split all money raised between our chosen charities on here but can't so if you are kind enough to donate please take a look at Andy's page too.
Now for the challenge.... In June this year we will attempt to climb the national 3 peaks (Snowdon, Scafell Pike & Ben Nevis). This in itself is a challenge, however we will be cycling between each peak, a total of around 470 miles. We intend to do this from start to fininsh in around 50 - 60 hours, although we have given ourselves longer if we decide a cat nap is needed! The climbing on the bikes alone will be 19,000 feet, while the peaks will be 9,500 feet and around 22 miles in distance.
We think the challenge is worthy of the amounts we are trying to raise for our causes. I do believe a challenge isn't a challenge unless there is that fear of actually not being able to pull it off. But knowing what you are raising money for and the people that have donated gives you that boost to push harder than you knew you could.
I know I was asking for sponsors just over a year ago but i wouldn't ask if I didn't know the causes were deserving.
