On Sunday July 29th I will be taking on the Outlaw Triathlon in Nottingham which consists of a 2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Bike, 26.2 Mile Run one after the other.

I am hoping to raise as much money as possible to help my friend Jon Smyth reach his target of £40,000 for the operation his daughter needs to help her to walk unaided.

Emma is 3 years and was born nine weeks premature. As a result, Emma has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, which mainly affects her ability to walk due to the extremely tight spasticity in her legs. She has stretches and exercises to do 3 times a day and intensive physiotherapy every 4 weeks.

There is an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) available in Leeds hospital that can massively improve her quality of life and her ability to walk unaided. Sadly, this operation is not currently funded by the NHS and costs £40,000. So we are trying to raise the money so she can get the help she needs.
